It is time. I have faithfully read and reread Dire Bound, Fury Bound, and many a Cosmopolitan astrology article to land us here: the official* Zodiac signs of the characters from Wolves of Ruin.

While I may not be an astrology expert, I am a self-proclaimed Dire Bound expert. It has been SO FUN to dig into these characters and think about what makes them tick. And listen…some of you may get more morally grey characters than others…but this is Nocturna we’re talking about, what did you expect!? All complaints can be sent Anassa’s way. 🐺
Aries
Anassa
Blood showers us and the ground, the open wound pulsing. Vicious satisfaction lashes through Anassa.
Of course MFWE (my favorite wolf ever) is an Aries! Anassa has been sassy, fierce, and protective since page 1. She is always the first to go against the grain to do what’s right and protect her loved ones.
Taurus
Igor
‘He was my neighbor in the Eastern Quarter and is like family. I trust him more than anyone else I know.’
It is truly inspiring how dependable and loyal Igor has been to Meryn! He’s always ready to support his Alley Cat however she needs, and she is lucky to have him in her court—literally.
Gemini
Lucien Brightbane
At least Lucien’s eyes don’t play at innocence, I note. From first glance, it’s easy to see that he’s cynical and cunning.
Oh, Lucien Brightbane. What can I say, I did give my favorite character in Fury Bound my sign. But is that not why Lucien and I both make great geminis? Lucien certainly gives off a social, snarky, and attractive front, but I think we all know deep down we’ve only scratched the surface with this guy. I can’t wait to see how his story develops in Ruin Bound!!
Cancer

Okay Cancers I know its your season and I’m sorry… but hear me out here. While Jonah may not be the most empathetic character, you can’t tell me he doesn’t act on his emotions. Jonah is one of those antagonists that I think is fully convinced he’s the good guy. If a cancer feels unsafe, they have the ability to manipulate others’ emotions. Now does that remind you of anyone?
Leo
Killian Valtiere

To all my lovely Leos out there: I sincerely apologize. But walk with me here. Killian is incredibly charismatic. AND he is certainly ruled by his ego. AND when he sets his eyes on the prize of ruling, he loses sight of everything else that matters.
Also, Leo…lion…“kitten”… Case closed.

Virgos you are one of the most hardworking signs out there, and who works harder for what she believes in than Venna Brooks?! That girl is stealthy and intelligent, and I love her for it.

You beautiful, magnetic Libras! I have a feeling our favorite Phylax would fit right in with you. Noemi can turn on the social charm to accomplish her goals and makes a natural diplomat!

I can picture it, again, the type of ruler she could be. Unafraid to do the necessary for people at any level. Confident and fair. Demanding justice when required, but never cruelly.
Meryn, Meryn, Meryn. I feel like I know you like my own sister. You lovely Scorpios are ambitious, loyal, sacrificial, and always looking for the deeper meaning in the mysteries in life. You stand your own and adapt when life throws you crazy punches. I can’t think of anything better to describe our heroine!

Who is more determined and disciplined than Alpha Valstark Therion?? Capricorns also tend to represent ancient things and tradition, much like Stark’s commitment to his family legacy as a sworn protector. This man makes a strong leader with incredibly high expectations of his people. But he is also deeply loyal to the people he holds close.

Even before I was made Alpha, Cratos never had wolves disobey him; they knew to follow his orders. He was too powerful—always the largest, the most vicious.
As a wolf bonded to the Daemos Alpha, Cratos has great capacity to control the direction the pack moves in. He, like his girl Anassa, is dedicated to shifting this collective to what’s right, not necessarily what’s historically been done.
