Retellings that Flip the Script
“What’s one book you wish you could read for the first time again?” Ugh, that is such an evil question because I have so many potential answers. But I always come down around to the Classics! Who doesn’t love a good classic piece of literature? And who doesn’t wish they could experience their favorite Classic for the first time again? Well, we can’t wipe your memory of the first time you read Pride and Prejudice yet, but we can recommend some retellings of your favorite Classics! Because a good retelling is the closest we’re going to get – and sometimes (controversial take here) they might be even better than the original!
Swashbuckling adventure, dueling identities, France… wait, okay, this retelling of The Count of Monte Cristo is not set in France, but it does have all the things you loved about the original – and perhaps a few new additions you’ll love even more! With romance and edge-of-your-seat action, Scavenge the Stars is the tale of a girl out for revenge, the mysterious stranger she saves, and a fantasy world in need of a reckoning!
