A Fan Playlist for The Demon King
You need to read The Demon King. That’s actually what this blog post should be called, because that is precisely why I am making this playlist – so you will listen to it and it will inspire you to read The Demon King because it’s one of my favorite books/series of all time. I remember where I was when I first picked up this book. I’ve read this book so many times I had to buy a new copy because the cover fell off my original copy. Read. This. Book.
It’s a slow-burn epic fantasy about a thief and a princess, and a sweeping legacy of warrior queens and forbidden love. When Han Alister, ex-thief and gang leader now trying to walk the straight and narrow, finds three young wizards setting fire to the sacred mountain of Hanalea, he tries to stop them. In doing so, he takes an amulet away from the son of the High Wizard – a powerful piece that leaves Han targeted by the most powerful wizard in the queendom. Meanwhile Princess Raisa ana’Marianna has just returned to court after three years of riding and hunting with her father’s family, one of the Clans. She will need to learn how to juggle the opposing wishes of the wizards, the Clans, the common folk, and her mother the queen.
