Well, I have solved all your problems by creating a list of books that will give you all the feelings. Books that will make you bawl, sob, weep. Because sometimes, all we’re looking for is a really, really good cry.

It’s difficult for me to tell you why this book is an epic tearjerker without giving away spoilers. So, I will boil it down to a few salient words and phrases: art, lies, protests, growing up, star-crossed lovers, home. I guess you’ll just have to read the book to figure out what that all means.
The Next New Syrian Girl
This book made me cry. Like, cry cry. It’s so emotional, but not even in a sad way. Well, some parts are devastatingly sad. But the parts that made me cry the hardest were the parts that were devastatingly happy. There is just something so cathartic about this one.
They Went Left

First off, this book starts at the end of World War II. So, from the beginning, we’re off to an emotional start. But then there’s the aftermath of the war. In the rubble of a broken continent, the characters in this heart-wrenching book must figure out how to piece their lives back together.
The Astonishing Color of After
This book. THIS BOOK. If you want to cry, this is the book to make you cry. It’s about grief and despair and heartbreak. It’s about reconciling with events beyond our control and forgiveness. But, most importantly, it’s about love!
Dear Evan Hansen

If you’ve seen the musical or the movie, or listened to the soundtrack, you know this one is a real tearjerker! Because it can be SO painful trying to belong. It can be so painful lying to the people you care about. So, let’s all feel less alone—together—while we cry along with Evan Hansen.
An Appetite for Miracles
This book is a heartbreaker, and if you’re not sobbing the whole way through…well then, I have questions for you. Because it hurts caring for and trying to heal our loved ones—especially when they are beyond repair. And it hurts to fall in love. My point is, we should all be crying!
