ME, MY SHELF, + I // Jessica
Introduce Yourself // I moved to Little, Brown Books for Young Readers to head-up the Publicity Department in June of 2015, after stints at Penguin Young Readers and Random House Children’s Books. In my previous roles, I worked on titles such as Jacqueline Woodson’s National Book Award winner Brown Girl Dreaming and the late, great Anna Dewdney’s beloved bestselling Llama Llama series. I love our select, boutique list and overseeing the amazing media and events that our team churns out for our beloved books and authors. I also serve as a publicist for authors such as Chris Colfer, Neil Patrick Harris, Lemony Snicket, and Monica Hesse. When I’m not in the office, you can usually find me logging miles on long distance runs or exploring New York City’s amazing restaurant scene.
Favorite Book of All Time // Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, no explanation needed.
Favorite LBYR Book // Impossible to say! But right now I’m head over heels for Emily X.R. Pan’s The Astonishing Color of After.
Book You’ve Been Meaning to Read for a While // The Alchemist, because Macklemore said so.
A Signed Book on Your Shelf // In my first year of publishing R.L. Stine signed a Goosebumps book for me and I nearly passed out.
Book(s) that You Think Everyone Should Read // Gayle Forman’s If I Stay, Sheryl Sandburg’s Option B, and then after those two tissue-box reads, Chris Harris’ I’m Just No Good At Rhyming to cheer you up!
Non-Book Bookish Item // A good pair of heels to get things accomplished in!
